What's Metal Micro Tube

Our high precision Micro Tube is made with ultimate accuracy unachievable by existing grinding technology.
We process a stainless core wire into the same OD as requested ID at high precision and complete the surface by nickel plating to form the out line.
By removing the stainless steel wire, ID is finally formed.
Smoother surface finishing of the stainless steel wire ensures far more precise ID than grinding work's.

Strict alignment of optical axis is necessary for connecting optical fibers together or to optical devices.
The part used to align optical axis is Optical Ferrule. At the tip of the ferrule, there is a micro tube called Capillary whose center has a slightly larger hole than OD(125μm) of optical fibers. The hole is required submicron accuracy on its ID, OD and eccentricity.

Core wire is nickel plated by electroforming.

ID is formed by removing the core wire.
As this forming method guarantees precise ID dimension, no second process is required.
